A Current Obsession

Prologue

He had wanted to make the leader suffer, at least, that had been his first plan. But then he found her, and she led him to him; him, the loud, obnoxious, naïve child. He wanted him, he had to have him, to own him, to hate him, to break him.
He targeted the blonde first, she had dared to help him after all. It was simple getting her on his side, manipulation was the key to his success (along with intelligence and power). He had been so close to getting what he wanted then, so close. But his defeat just left him craving the sweet sounds the boy had made at the blonde’s betrayal.
He had miscalculated later; the quiet one, while powerful, did not seem to have as great of a connection to the boy. His distress, though delightful as it was, was not enough unlike the pure anguish he had felt for the blonde one’s death. His anger, however, had been stunning, and his defeat? Delicious.

It was many years after the fall that he could finally get what he wanted. He could shut him away and drive him mad. The games he could play, the possibilities were endless. He took a long stride out of the shadows, the small ceiling light illuminating his masked features.
“Hello Beast Boy.” It could begin.
